Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operating on Christian principles that seeks to put God's love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Through shelter, we empower families in need of decent, affordable housing with the opportunity of a brighter future for themselves in our community.
We have completed 395 home construction and repair projects since 1998 in southern Collin County. 91 of these projects were construction of new, safe and affordable houses, transforming the lives of 297 deserving family members, including 169 children. Every new house constructed has a Home Energy Rating of 5-Stars costing approximately $75,000, not including the cost of land. Homeowner Families’ mortgage payments and Home Repair Families’ payments are used to build more Habitat houses. Our Habitat Homeowner Families have paid more than $616,000 in property taxes to Collin County, the cities and schools.
